Keith Berger bought the print shop in 1983 just when big tech was starting to come out of their garages. The digital revolution brought quite a few changes to the printing industry and let’s just say the Cranky Press stayed a few steps behind the technology curve. But what we lack in fancy gadgets, we more than make up for with knowledgeable experience.
We are located in beautiful Salem, Ohio, which is almost exactly halfway between Cleveland and Pittsburgh. The Cranky Press has been offering printing services for people and businesses across the country for over 40 years.
Meet Keith
He keeps things running Smooth
Keith has always been a printer, and he will be the first to tell you that there are much more efficient, faster and cost effective ways to put words on paper. “There is a reason why letterpress printing is now a page in a history book!” Sure there are a few jobs the old methods can still do easier than the new technologies such as die-cutting and foil stamping — for now. But what hand set type and letterpress printing can honestly offer is beautifully flawed imperfection in a slick, sanitized, over baked, “perfect” world.
